Sue was elected to the Board of Trustees at our AGM in 2014 having previously served as a co-opted Trustee. She succeeded Keith Stewart as National Chairman in June 2016.
I am passionate about our charity. I have witnessed first hand how much distress suffering from Crohn’s and Colitis can cause. My husband suffered from Ulcerative Colitis and a dear friend Crohn’s Disease.
My career began with Marks and Spencer in Human Resources. After 15 years, I moved on to develop my own Consultancy which focused on coaching and mentoring senior management across a variety of sectors. During this period, I was a Non Executive Director of an NHS Trust for 7 years and a School Governor for 5 years.
Having chosen to give up paid work and join the voluntary sector I was asked to be an Ambassador for Rennie Grove Hospice Care in 2012 and selected to be a Trustee of Crohn’s and Colitis UK in 2013. I also took a more active role in my church in working with the elderly. In 2015,I applied for the position of Chair of our charity and was selected.
I believe my experience and values coupled with my drive and ambition match the requirements of our charity at this exciting stage of its development.
