New Chief Executive starts at Crohn’s & Colitis UK

12 March 2019

Sarah Sleet has joined Crohn’s & Colitis UK as the new Chief Executive, following more than 10 years as CEO at Coeliac UK.

Joining us in our 40th Anniversary year, Sarah is an experienced and successful Chief Executive and has worked with a broad range of health and patient groups and European patient organisations, as well as government advisory and research bodies.

Sarah has also built expertise in education, social and economic policy, scientific research, income generation and campaigning. She is Chair of Community Christmas, a small charity working to alleviate loneliness at Christmas.

I’m thrilled to join Crohn’s & Colitis UK and I am very excited about taking on this next adventure. The charity is highly respected by many in the health sector and it delivers so much for the people it cares for, and I am absolutely delighted to join the team. I can’t wait to get stuck in and see how we can help improve the lives of those affected by Crohn’s or Colitis. Gut conditions simply do not get the recognition and resources they deserve in the health sector and wider society and I will make it my mission to work with the charity to change that.

Sarah Sleet

Crohn’s & Colitis UK has an ambitious five-year strategy that aims for improved lives today, and a world free from Crohn’s and Colitis tomorrow which will be helped along with the appointment of Sarah.

The strategy includes everyone to understand these complex conditions as well as driving world class research into the diseases. The charity aims to support and empower people to actively manage their conditions, as well as early and accurate diagnosis for all, that will lead to high quality, sustainable clinical care across the UK by 2022.
