Researchers at NCEPOD (the National Confidential Enquiry into Patient Outcome and Death) are looking for people who have Crohn’s disease to participate in an important study that will review the hospital care received and where improvements could be made. They want to identify the key issues for patients, which will inform and shape the focus of the whole study.
There are different ways to get involved:
People with Crohn’s disease (who have had or are waiting for an operation for their condition) are invited to join a small friendly on-line focus group, the first of which will be held in mid-April.
NCEPOD are also looking for 1-2 people with Crohn’s disease to join the Study Advisory Group which will help design and steer the study. They will be having an initial shorter meeting on 12th February, but there is still opportunity to join ahead of the first official meeting in April/May.
This research involvement opportunity will help improve the quality of care provided to patients with Crohn’s disease. NCEPOD have a long history of producing high impact reports that have led to real improvements in health care. It is important to ensure that the patient voice is at the centre of the work being done. If you are interested and would like more information about this opportunity, please email Hannah Shotton or visit their website.
This research involvement opportunity is NOT organised by Crohn's & Colitis UK and, therefore, we cannot take responsibility for your involvement.
