Raise awareness in your community

It is taking too long for people with Crohn’s or Colitis to be diagnosed. Whether you live with Crohn's or Colitis or know someone affected, we need your support to raise awareness of symptoms and conditions in your local community.

Did you know that 3 in 5 young adults do not know that blood in poo, diarrhoea, and stomach pain are key symptoms of Crohn's and Colitis?

We have launched our Cut the Crap campaign, encouraging people to get checked using our online symptom checker and to speak with their GP.

By promoting the symptom checker in your local area, you can help us reach even more people. Sharing your own diagnosis story and experiences is a great way of connecting to people. We have put together some hints and tips for raising awareness in your local area by pitching your story to the media , sharing your story on social media, and raising awareness in your local area .

Our Cut the Crap campaign is particularly targeting people aged 18-34. When thinking about your media story, social posts or running a stall, please consider how you might engage young people. You could do this by:

  • Connecting with youth organisations in your local area
  • Contacting media outlets that focus on reaching young people
