Explorations of the bidirectional links between Periodontal Disease and Inflammatory Bowel Disease

Researchers at Newcastle University are looking for people living with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) to take part in a study looking at whether there are links between gum disease, also called periodontal disease, and IBD. 

Researchers would like people living with IBD to take part in a study looking at whether there is a link between gum disease and IBD. 

Please note this study takes place in Newcastle. 

The researchers want to understand more about how gum health and gut health are linked. They are looking at gum disease, also called periodontal disease, and IBD. They hope that learning more about whether gum disease and IBD are linked will help improve patient outcomes.

To take part you must be:

  • aged over 18 
  • diagnosed with Inflammatory Bowel Disease

 

If you take part you will be asked to attend an appointment in Newcastle.
