Stomasense: A new route to the proactive detection and management of leaks within ostomy pouches

Researchers at Ulster University are looking for people living with an ileostomy who often experience leaks to take part in this new research study.

Researchers at Ulster University are looking for people to take part in a new research study looking at the development of a leak detection system. If you take part you will be sent a stoma-pouch leak detection system and asked to trial the device. You will also be asked to complete a series of questionnaires and a food-diary.

To take part you must be:

  • over 18 years of age
  • living with an ileostomy (more than 1.5 years post-op.)
  • frequently experience leaks (more than once a week)
  • have access to a smart device to complete online questionnaires

The researchers hope that developing this device will help ease feelings of anxiety for people living with a stoma and improve quality of life.

If you are interested in taking part, or would like more information about the study, please complete the form below.

By entering your details, you are not committing to take part, but you will be forwarded to the study webpage for more information. You will have the opportunity to change your mind at any time.

This research study is NOT organised by Crohn's & Colitis UK and, therefore, we cannot take responsibility for your involvement in the research.
