Introduction

Welcome to your first Connect Now of 2021!

I hope you had a happy new year and that 2021 is going to be a better year for all.  Even though this year hasn’t started how any of us wished the lighter nights and news of vaccines rolling out brings with it renewed hope of some return to normality.  As a new person to this role I’m excited and hopeful about offering support to you and all members of our community.

This month, we talk to one of our Crohn's & Colitis UK Nurse Specialists, Daljit, about her experience getting the COVID-19 vaccine, and discuss some common concerns about receiving it.

We also hear from the senior leaders of Crohn's & Colitis UK on the charity's priorities for 2021, get an update on our Not Every Disability is Visible campaign, and learn about one of our Rising Stars of Research.

Remember, we're here for you. If you need support with any aspect of managing your condition, please get in touch with our Helpline. They can be reached on 0300 222 5700, emailed on helpline@crohnsandcolitis.org.uk or you can Live Chat with them.

We also offer a lot of news and information on our social media. You can follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for updates on all things Crohn's and Colitis.

Thank you so much for being a member of our community and for all your support. If you want to discuss your membership, or you have any feedback or story ideas for Connect Now, please email us on membership@crohnsandcolitis.org.uk.
