These Terms and Conditions apply to the Big Summer Skip 2026 organised by Crohn’s & Colitis UK.

Big Summer Skip Challenge 2026 - Event Terms and Conditions 

These Terms and Conditions apply to the Big Summer Skip Challenge organised by Crohn’s & Colitis UK. 

 

REGISTRATION  

1. Registration for the Big Summer Skip Challenge is free. If you are unable to take part in the event after completing your registration, no refund will be due. 

2. The closing date for registration is the 17th of August 2026. 

3. Participants must register via the official registration form to be registered for the Big Summer Skip 

4. Registration for the Big Summer Skip Challenge is free. A fundraising page is automatically creates as part of the registration process. 

5. Participants who raise a minimum of £10 through their official Big Summer Skip fundraising page will be eligible to receive one complimentary Big Summer Skip skipping rope, subject to availability and these Terms and Conditions. 

6. Skipping ropes are available on a first-come, first-served basis whilst stocks last. Eligibility for a rope does not guarantee receipt of a rope where available stock has been exhausted. 

7. Crohn's & Colitis UK reserves the right to determine eligibility for promotional items and may require verification of fundraising activity before dispatch. 

8. Only one skipping rope may be claimed per eligible participant. Crohn's & Colitis UK reserves the right to refuse multiple claims from the same individual, household, postal address, fundraising page or other related registrations. 

9. Participants who have registered for three or more Crohn's & Colitis UK fundraising challenges without reasonable engagement in fundraising activity may not be eligible for promotional incentives at the charity's discretion. 

10. You must be aged 18 or over to register for this event. 

11. We can only ship skipping ropes to addresses within the United Kingdom. Unfortunately, we are unable to ship internationally due to high postage costs. 

12. Crohn’s & Colitis UK is not responsible for technical faults, errors, or crashes during the online registration process.  

 

 SAFETY  

1. Participants taking part in the Big Summer Skip do so entirely at their own risk and are responsible for selecting manageable jumps to complete throughout the month. 

2. By submitting a Registration Form the participant confirms that, to the best of their knowledge and belief, they are healthy and fit to take part in the Event, understand and have considered and evaluated the nature, scope and extent of the risks involved, and have voluntarily and freely chosen to participate in the Event entirely at their own risk. 

3. Crohn’s & Colitis UK understands that people of all levels of fitness are keen to support. Participants must acknowledge that participation in the Event involves physical activities and inherent risks and dangers of accidents, personal and bodily injury (including death) and property loss or damage. If they have any medical conditions that could be adversely affected by exercise, particularly a heart condition, or if they are in any doubt about their health, they must get clearance from their doctor before participating. 

4. Crohn’s & Colitis UK will not be held accountable for any illness or injury sustained while participating in this event.  

5. It is advisable that participants have safe and appropriate equipment whilst participating in this event 

6. It is strongly advised that all participants wear appropriate clothing and footwear and stay hydrated whilst participating.  

7. Crohn’s & Colitis UK does not provide any insurance, whether life or medical or liability, for any illness, accident, injury, death, loss and/ or damage that may arise in connection with the participation in the Event. Participants are advised to obtain such insurance themselves if required or desired. 

 

FUNDRAISING 

1. All funds raised by participants taking part in the big Summer Skip are raised for the sole purpose of benefiting Crohn’s & Colitis UK and those who receive the support from the services provided.  

2. Participants are encouraged to use their Social Sync, JustGiving or Facebook Fundraising page to collect sponsorship for this event. 

3. We welcome and encourage users to customise messages on fundraising pages and to leave comments when making donations, however, Crohn’s & Colitis UK is not responsible for the content of any fundraising page created for this event.  

4. The Fundraising Regulator encourages all fundraisers to be familiar with the Online Fundraising Code of Practice

 

PROMOTIONAL ITEMS AND INCENTIVES 

1. Any promotional item, incentive, reward or participation gift offered as part of the Big Summer Skip Challenge is provided at the discretion of Crohn's & Colitis UK and may be subject to eligibility criteria determined by the charity. 

2. Crohn's & Colitis UK reserves the right to substitute, amend, suspend or withdraw any promotional item, incentive, reward or participation gift at any time where reasonably necessary, including but not limited to circumstances involving stock shortages, supplier issues, fraud prevention, operational requirements or unexpectedly high demand. 

3. Promotional items have no cash value and no cash alternative will be offered. 

4. Crohn's & Colitis UK reserves the right to decline or cancel the provision of a promotional item where it reasonably suspects abuse of the registration process, duplicate registrations, fraudulent activity or behaviour inconsistent with the spirit of the event. 

5. Dispatch times for promotional items are estimates only and may vary depending on demand and operational capacity. 

 

GIFT AID 

1. Please ask all those who sponsor you to tick the Gift Aid box if eligible. Gift Aid increases the value of individual donations and sponsorship by 25p for every £1 donated at no extra cost to the donor. This means even more money goes to Crohn’s & Colitis UK.  

2. If you are a UK taxpayer, you are encouraged to claim Gift Aid when donating your own money to your fundraising page by ticking the Gift Aid declaration if eligible. 

3. If you pay in money to your fundraising other than money you are donating to Crohn’s & Colitis UK personally (e.g. Cash from collections, family members, ticket sales and any activity where you get something in return for your money) you cannot claim Gift Aid. 

 

 PERSONAL DATA 

1. We advise users to avoid posting personal information about themselves or someone else (e.g. addresses, telephone numbers) when writing on a fundraising page. 

2. All personal data that you are asked to provide when setting up a fundraising page and/or making a donation will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy

3. We will also use your personal details for the purpose of sending you communications about the event. 

4. Crohn's & Colitis UK may use information provided as part of event registration, fundraising activity and participation to administer the event, verify eligibility for incentives and prevent misuse of charitable resources.
