Researchers at King's College London are looking for people living with Crohn's or Colitis to join a focus group to provide feedback on their plans for a project looking at treatments for depression.
Focus group to shape a project to develop a home-based treatment to help reduce depression in people living with IBD
Researchers at King's College London would like people living with Crohn's or Colitis to join a focus group to help them develop a new research project.
They are looking to design a project to help reduce depression in people living with Crohn's and Colitis. Many people with IBD experience depression alongside physical symptoms such as pain, fatigue, and unpredictable bowel problems. The study is looking at a non-invasive technique called Transcutaneous Electrical Acupoint Stimulation (TEAS). TEAS uses a small, safe device that delivers gentle electrical stimulation through the skin at specific points on the body. The treatment can be used at home with support from a smartphone app. The aim is to develop a safe, accessible, treatment that supports mental wellbeing and self-management for people living with IBD.
For this opportunity the researchers would like people to give feedback on the planned research project and help them ensure it is acceptable and relevant to people living with IBD.
They would like feedback on the study design. If you choose to take part you will be asked to attend one virtual workshop lasting approximately 1.5 hours. During the session, the researchers will present the proposed study and invite you to share their views, experiences, and suggestions to help improve the design and ensure it is acceptable and relevant to people living with IBD.
You will need to be available to attend ONE of the three workshops times:
19/03/26 at 12:00–13:30
23/03/26 at 18:00–19:30
26/03/26 at 18:00–19:30
Participants only need to attend one session.
If you are interested in taking part, or would like more information about the study, please complete the form below.
By entering your details, you are not committing to take part, but your contact details will be forwarded to the researcher who will get in touch with you directly with more information. You will have the opportunity to change your mind at any time.
This research study is NOT organised by Crohn's & Colitis UK and, therefore, we cannot take responsibility for your involvement in the research.
