Help Shape Bowel Cancer Research in Your Community

Researchers at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust are looking for people who live with Crohn's or Colitis to get involved and help shape a new study developing a bowel cancer risk predication test.

Researchers at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust are looking for people with lived experience of Crohn's or Colitis to join them in developing a new study.

Researchers are looking for people from diverse backgrounds to support them as Public and Patient Involvement and Engagement Leads or focus group participants for a study on a new bowel cancer risk prediction test.

They have developed a new test to look at a person's individual risk of developing bowel cancer which could help clinicians and patients make better decisions about their care. They are designing a study to confirm this test works as planned and they would like input from people living with Crohn's and Colitis.

There are two ways which you can get involved with this project.

  1. As part of the focus group workshop (1-2 hours).Giving your thoughts on the study design, advising on the readability and cultural sensitivity of participant-facing documents.
  2. As a formal community engagement lead role. With researcher support this would involve designing and facilitating the focus group meetings with their peer community members.

Options for an in-person meeting in a familiar local community setting and online meetings will be provided to aid in the inclusion of both digitally excluded and geographically diverse participants.

You will be offered payment for your time.

If you are interested in taking part, or would like more information about the study, please complete the form below.

By entering your details, you are not committing to take part, but your contact details will be forwarded to the researcher who will get in touch with you directly with more information. You will have the opportunity to change your mind at any time.

This research study is NOT organised by Crohn's & Colitis UK and, therefore, we cannot take responsibility for your involvement in the research.
