Researchers at The British Society for Immunology (BSI) are recruiting eight people to form a Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) Panel for the Medical Research Council Centre of Research Excellence (MRC CoRE) in Exposome Immunology.
Patient and Public Involvement Panel for the Medical Research Council Centre of Research Excellence (MRC CoRE) in Exposome Immunology.
This is an opportunity to join a patient involvement group with researchers at the MRC Centre of Research Excellence in exposure immunology.
The researchers are exploring how environmental exposures cause chronic inflammatory diseases such as asthma and inflammatory bowel disease. The PPI Panel will support the researchers by ensuring the research project is relevant, suitable and valuable by providing feedback and reflections on research priorities, how research is carried out and the wider implications of the research.
The environmental exposures the researchers want to look at are:
Air pollution
Infections
Climate
Diet
Socioeconomic factors
Occupational hazards
To take part you must be:
- living with Crohn's or Colitis
- over 18
- live in the UK
- have access to a device to join online meetings
If you decide to join the PPI Panel you will be asked to meet with researchers online, 4 times a year. Initial membership of the panel will be 3 years.
