Researchers at the University of Edinburgh are looking for people aged 16 and over with Crohn's or Colitis and who have undergone an emergency stoma surgery to take part in a study.
Lived Experiences of Undergoing Emergency Stoma Surgery for Crohn's or Colitis
Eligible participants will be asked to attend an online interview to talk about their experiences of having the surgery and how they have adjusted to life with a stoma. This will help to increase the limited understanding of people who have undergone emergency stoma surgery for Crohn's or Colitis.
You must be at least 16 years old and fluent in English to take part in this study.
To be an ‘emergency’ stoma surgery, your surgery must have taken place during an unplanned admission to hospital, rather than being organised in advance.
You may not be eligible to take part if you have received treatment for cancer in the year before or after surgery. You must be at least 3 months post-op.
