Retrospective Experiences of Secondary School Physical Education Among Individuals with Inflammatory Bowel Disease

Researchers at Edge Hill University are looking for adults living with IBD to explore how they remember their experiences of PE during secondary school.

This study aims to explore how adults with IBD remember their experiences of PE during secondary school. This includes how participating in PE made them feel, whether they felt supported and included in activities, or whether they felt uncomfortable or unable to participate fully. The study will also explore whether these experiences have influenced how they feel about physical activity today.

To participate you must be 18 or over, self-identify as having IBD, and have experienced symptoms of IBD during secondary school PE.
Participants do not need to have a formal diagnosis to take part in the study.

You will be asked to take part in the following activities:
an online interview via Microsoft Teams (approx. 30-45 minutes), and
an optional follow-up discussion (approx. 15-30 minutes).

Please complete the form below if you are interested in taking part in this research.

By entering your details, you are not committing to take part, but you will be forwarded to the research study webpage for more information. You will have the opportunity to change your mind at any time.

This research study is NOT organised by Crohn's & Colitis UK and, therefore, we cannot take responsibility for your involvement in the research.
