Weight loss medications and Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD)

Researchers at University of Glasgow are interested in learning more about the experience that people living with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) have had when taking weight loss (GLP-1) medicines.

Researchers are interested in learning about the experience that people living with Crohn's and Colitis have had when taking GLP-1 medicines, also called weight-loss medications or weight-loss jabs.

GLP-1 medicines, like Ozempic® (Semaglutide) and Mounjaro® (Tirzepatide) can be used to treat Type 2 diabetes or to help people to lose weight. They are usually given as an injection and are sometimes called ‘weight loss jabs’.

Researchers would like to learn more about how these medications affect people living with IBD. If you decide to take part in this research you will be asked to complete an online survey. The survey will take around 10 minutes to complete.

To take part you must be:

  • 18 or over
  • diagnosed with Crohn's or Colitis
  • Have experience of taking a GLP-1 medicine

Please complete the form below if you are interested in taking part in this research.
