We Suspend Our Research

Published: 17 April 2020

As a result of the coronavirus crisis, our income has dropped significantly, and we expect this to continue for the rest of the year. We will do all we can to continue to provide vital support to our community and keep them connected but this will inevitably have a big impact on the work we undertake.

We understand how important research is to our supporters, so it is with a heavy heart, that we have taken the difficult but necessary decision to pause research funding until further notice.

This means that we are asking our researchers to suspend their research projects until further notice.

We will also not be funding any further research for the foreseeable future. Our Open Call will not open in 2020 but we will open applications to our Pain Collaborative programme in April - you can find more information on this here. To help us manage our income and to give researchers the time to refocus and apply, we have not set a closing date yet.

We look forward to a time when we are once again able to fund innovative, exciting research into improving the lives of people with Crohn's and Colitis, searching for better treatments and ultimately finding a cure. We need you to help us get there so please donate here or start fundraising with us!

We owe an immense debt of gratitude to our researchers whose time and attention has been diverted to front-line services or COVID-related research. Your support and patience are appreciated, and we look forward to getting back to business as usual as soon as possible.
