Crohn's & Colitis UK is launching a fundraising award in memory of a much-loved colleague.
Fundraising award in honour of Alex Demain
Alex Demain, who passed away aged 29 last year, joined us in 2010, and quickly built relationships with charity supporters. Outgoing and modest, he managed events with a sportsman’s flair for being part of the action.
Alex, was admired by his colleagues for coping privately and courageously with Crohn’s Disease and cancer. We are proud to be launching a fundraising award in his memory.
Do you know (or are you) a dedicated and imaginative young fundraiser?
The Alex Demain Young Fundraiser of the Year Award is open to anyone in the UK and will involve two categories:
- Under 16-year-olds (must have raised at least £250)
- 16 to 29-year-olds (raised more than £1,000)
If you have been motivated by the innovative ways a young person has fundraised for Crohn’s and Colitis UK, we would love to receive your nomination.
Passionate about his work, Alex loved to hear the wonderful ways our incredible supporters pushed the boundaries to boost funds for (and awareness of) the charity. We are honoured his family will be involved in judging the award.
In no more than 500 words, the nomination should cover:
- What, why and how the fundraising was done
- Amount raised and received by Crohn's and Colitis UK to date
- Any additional information e.g. awareness-raising
Who can nominate?
Any member of the public who is not a current employee of Crohn's and Colitis UK or part of either selection panel.
Don't forget you can nominate yourself!
Judging
Nominations to be shortlisted down to three for each category by the Income Generation team.
The final selection to be made by a committee, comprising; Two Trustees, the Chief Executive, Director of Income Generation and members of the Demain family.
The winner will be announced at our AGM in June 2016.
