The report, issued by the Royal College of Physicians finds that biological therapies* are effective and relatively safe treatments for people with Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis.
New report: 80% adult & 77% paediatric IBD patients saw improvement following biological therapies
Based on an ongoing UK-wide audit to measure the efficacy, safety and appropriate use of biological therapies for those with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) in the UK, the audit also aims to capture patients’ views on their quality of life at intervals during their treatment.
This is part of a wider programme of IBD audit (pdf), supported by Crohn’s and Colitis UK as members of its steering group. Read our My Crohn’s and Colitis Care guide to the top 10 essentials of a good IBD service and how to get the best from your service, working in partnership with the healthcare professionals supporting you.
