We have published three new information sheets that will be of vital interest to patients, families and health professionals.
New Crohn's and Colitis publications
Sometimes during surgery for Inflammatory Bowel Disease, the bowel is brought to the surface of the abdomen. An opening is made so that digestive waste products drain into a bag rather than through the anus. This is called a stoma. This information sheet describes different types of stoma and why you may have one. It also explains how to care for your stoma and manage it in your everyday life.
If you have Crohn’s Disease or Ulcerative Colitis – the two main forms of Inflammatory Bowel Disease – you are likely to be prescribed medication as part of your treatment. This information sheet looks at some of the most common questions asked about IBD drugs and how to take them.
This information sheet is a brief overview of some of the important points about vedolizumab, which is used to treat Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis, the two main forms of Inflammatory Bowel Disease. The information is about vedolizumab in general and is not intended to replace specific advice from your doctor or other health professionals.
