WALK IT takes London by storm!

Published: 12 June 2017

1,500 Crohn's & Colitis UK supporters joined us last Saturday for a purple takeover of Brunswick Square.

Supporters turned out in their masses; adults, children, dogs, superheroes and celebrities alike! The sun was shining for us all as our walkers chose to participate in a 5km or 10km route around central London. WALK IT - dog

Our aim? To raise awareness and vital funds for our battle against Crohn’s DiseaseUlcerative Colitis and other forms of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). Through uniting the country, we will fight for the 300,000 people in the UK with the condition to achieve a better quality of life by carrying out new research, answering more calls and providing patient packs to hospitals across the UK.

With a staggering 1,500 people walking through the streets of London in purple, we've not only raised over £227,000 collectively, but we also made it into the Daily Mail and ITV News – take that IBD!

Our walk this year was opened by TV star Sam Faiers, who not only took centre stage at our warm up, but walked the 5km as well.

London was the fourth WALK IT of the series, with our remaining events taking place at Swansea, Edinburgh, Birmingham and Bristol.

Check out the action from our biggest event of the year!
