We are Giveacar's featured charity!

Published: 17 May 2021

Throughout April, May and June Crohn's & Colitis UK is the focus for Giveacar's charitable giving.

We are so excited to be working with this fantastic company to increase our vital donations over these coming months.

Matthew tells us more about Giveacar and why the charity feature was set up.

“”

Set-up in 2010, with just seven cars donated in the first month, Giveacar was created to give people an ethical, hassle-free way of getting rid of a scrap car. Since then, we have grown to handle hundreds of cars a month and allows charities to tap into an alternative fundraising method. At Giveacar, we know that there is value in every scrap car, and we put in the time and effort on behalf of donors in order to raise money for their chosen charity. When donating a car, we arrange free collection at a convenient time and place to the donor.

“”

The car is then either sold at auction or scrapped with the proceeds raised going to the donor's chosen charity. On occasion, some donors prefer us to choose the charity the donation goes to which could cause us a headache of who to choose as we remain independent from any one charity.

Our featured charity was set up to solve the problem of where the donation is allocated. The campaign created around the feature enables us to increase the donations raised for the charity through them spreading the message to their supporters, and wider network. For 2021, our featured charity campaigns have been extended to three-month stints, previously being one month. The change enables us to have a greater impact for the charity by raising more donations in that time and so the effects will be felt for longer. Our featured charity scheme acts as a way to for us to give back to charities whilst raising the awareness of car donations as a means of fundraising.

We're excited to be working with Crohn's & Colitis UK throughout April, May and June. Turning as many old cars, motorbikes, vans, and even caravans into donations for them!

After a difficult year we are extremely grateful to have be Giveacar's featured charity. If you've got a car, motorbike or van you've been looking to scrap, donate it to Giveacar and donate to us at the same time.
