Tom Speight

Tom Speight is a singer/songwriter, diagnosed with Crohn's Disease when he was 19 years old. Tom is an active advocate and supporter of Crohn's & Colitis UK, having supported us by speaking at the Houses of Parliament in 2024, where we were calling for better care for people living with Crohn's or Colitis.

Tom first started have symptoms such as weight loss, diarrhoea, fatigue and vomiting whilst at university, but by 2014 things appeared to be under control. At this point his music career really started to take off with him playing as a support act for the likes of Ed Sheeran, Travis and Mumford & sons. But within days of signing his first publishing contract, he suffered a perforation and needed emergency surgery. After two years of recovery, he was getting his career back on track and released 6 well-received EP's in two years.

Tom is an active advocate and supporter of Crohn's & Colitis UK, having supported us by speaking at the Houses of Parliament in 2024, where we were calling for better care for people living with Crohn's or Colitis. He fundraises for us too, and recently took part in the London WALK IT as well as singing at the event. Tom also. He has also raises money through donating profits from his music to the charity.
