Join us for our free webinar exploring faith-based fasting with Crohn’s and Colitis. Held in partnership with the British Islamic Medical Association (BIMA), and timed ahead of Ramadan, this session will provide practical information and support for anyone considering fasting for religious, spiritual or cultural reasons.

"Our role is not simply to say "fast" or "don’t fast", but to understand the evidence, assess individual risk, and support patients in making informed decisions while keeping their disease under control"

– Dr Muhammad Usman

You might have questions about balancing your faith with your health when it comes to fasting. We’ll be discussing symptom management, hydration, nutrition, communicating with loved ones, understanding when religious exemptions may apply, and approaching decisions about fasting with confidence.

While the focus will be on Ramadan, everyone who fasts for religious, spiritual or cultural reasons is welcome and may find the information shared helpful and relevant to their own fasting practices.

When? Wednesday 20 January, 6pm

I’m excited to explore fasting with Inflammatory Bowel Disease because it sits at the intersection of evidence-based medicine and what matters deeply to patients. Ramadan is an important part of life for many people with Crohn’s and Colitis, and our role is not simply to say "fast" or "don’t fast", but to understand the evidence, assess individual risk, and support patients in making informed decisions while keeping their disease under control.
