18 June 2026 | 6:30–8pm | Online

If you're living with Crohn's or Colitis, you've probably been faced with a huge amount of information - especially online - about diets, treatments, so-called "quick fixes" and "miracle cures". It can feel overwhelming trying to work out what’s accurate, what’s safe, and what might actually help. Unfortunately, not all of this information is reliable, and following the wrong advice can be expensive, ineffective and even dangerous.

At this free webinar, Rosa Legeno-Bell from the Patient Information Forum (PIF) will lead a practical session designed to support you in cutting through the noise, helping you spot misinformation, understand what evidence-based information looks like, and feel more confident making decisions about your health.

We'll also be hearing from influencer Holly '@stomababe' Fleet about the ups and downs of sharing her life online, and from Luke, who lives with Crohn's Disease and will talk about his experience of navigating health content.

When? Thursday 18 June, 6.30–8pm

Where? Online on Zoom

I am looking forward to talking about misinformation and disinformation, to help people understand how misleading health information spreads online, and the real impact it can have on people’s health and decisions. The webinar will also explore how AI, influencers and social media are changing the way people find health information, alongside simple ways to question sources, spot bias and think more critically about the content we see every day.

I’m really looking forward to co-hosting this webinar with Crohn’s & Colitis UK to have an honest conversation about social media, both the opportunities and the challenges it can bring. Sharing life with IBD and a stoma online has shown me the power social platforms can have in raising awareness, but also the importance of tackling misinformation and creating safer, more supportive spaces for people living with chronic illness.
