We know we've come a long way in the past 40 years but there's much work still to be done so that people living with Crohn’s and Colitis can lead freer, fuller lives.

I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease when I was 6. I know that the charity gave huge support to my parents at the time, and in the years since. The Can't Wait Card proved invaluable, and the information sheets were very useful to my family and teachers. The charity has provided information and support when I have started new treatments. It has been there to consult when I started a new job and needed to make my employers aware of my illness. It has been there when I wanted to start a family and became pregnant. In short, I feel indebted to the charity.

I was inspired to leave a gift in my Will when I volunteered at London WALK IT and saw everyone giving it their all. There was a young lady who had done a sponsored swim across the channel - she was in her 20's. I thought if someone is prepared to do all that… then at least I can leave some money in my Will to help. I don’t have a great deal of money, but I think it’s important. If everyone gave a little, that’s what builds up.
