From 1st – 7th December, join us for Awareness Week as we launch our Face the Facts campaign. With your help, we’ll reveal to the world what life is really like living with Crohn’s or Colitis.
This year, we’re sharing findings from the IBD UK report. The findings from the report revealed a striking gap in care: while 25% of services reported offering personalised care plans to all adults with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), only 7% of patients said they actually had one. Personalised care, combined with shared decision-making, can make a world of difference for those navigating life with these challenging conditions.
In this blog, we speak to James. Living with Crohn’s Disease, James worked closely with his surgeon to explore his treatment options and develop a plan tailored to his needs. Together, they agreed on a surgical plan that took into account his university schedule, allowing him to undergo surgery over the summer holidays and recover before returning to his studies.
This story highlights why personalised care is so important—not just in managing IBD but in helping people live their lives fully.
