Pushing Crohn’s and Colitis up the political agenda
We work with governments, politicians, policymakers and a wide range of other stakeholders to raise awareness of Crohn’s & Colitis and make it a greater priority.
The policy team is responsible for turning the latest evidence and insight into policy positions that set out where we stand on issues such as increasing the number of IBD nurses, improving access to public toilets, and ending prescription charges in England. We make recommendations on how policy, legislation and public services can be improved to better meet with needs of people with Crohn’s and Colitis.
We work to push Crohn’s and Colitis up the political agenda by:
- Regularly meeting with politicians, policymakers, and other stakeholders to brief them on our latest policy positions and increase their understanding of Crohn’s and Colitis
- Engaging politicians with our latest campaigns and supporting them to take action in parliament to raise Crohn’s and Colitis in debates, questions, and legislation
- Responding to government consultations or medicine appraisals
- Increasing awareness of the latest evidence and position statements on Crohn’s and Colitis
- Giving evidence to Parliament or speaking at events
- Support people with Crohn’s and Colitis to share their experiences with politicians and campaign for change.
