It is important to ensure that you are including a wide range of people in your research. Consider how you can involve people from different cultures, communities and ethnic backgrounds.
Diversity in PPI
NIHR INCLUDE Guidance
NIHR-INCLUDE was commissioned to address the lack of representation in health and care research with the aim of providing better health and care through more inclusive research. The INCLUDE Guidelines provide a strategic overview of potential points for intervention to improve inclusion of under-served groups across the life course of research; key objectives to improve inclusivity and guiding principles for stakeholders to apply the guidance.
Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in Science and Health
EDIS is a coalition of organisations working to improve equality, diversity and inclusion within the science and health research sector. Here you’ll find practical tools or guides that will help with planning, implementing or evaluating projects and programmes to improve EDI in science and health research.
Connecting with black communities
Crohn’s & Colitis UK commissioned ClearView Research to carry out a research project to gain insights into why people from black communities do not engage in Crohn’s and Colitis research. The project also aimed to identify clear recommendations that would promote increased engagement with these communities.
