Your Stories

The image shows two women seated closely on a wooden bench. The woman on the left has a shaved head and is laughing, wearing a bright orange, fluffy coat that contrasts with her dark skin. She has hoop earrings and is seated with her hands on her lap. The woman on the right has long, curly hair with hints of red and is wearing a black, padded jacket over a green top. She appears to be listening intently with a gentle smile. Both are surrounded by lush greenery, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

With 98% of our work being funded by generous donations from supporters, your support really is helping us to deliver the work that truly makes a difference to the one in 120 of us in the UK who have Crohn’s Disease or Ulcerative Colitis.

Thanks to the ongoing commitment and kindness of our supporters, including those who chose to include Crohn’s & Colitis UK in their Will, we’re continuing to fight for a tomorrow where everyone living with Crohn’s or Colitis has everything they need to live well, and for a future where we don’t have to live with it at all.

Below you can read the stories of supporters who have generously left a gift in their Will including their motivations for their legacy, and what they hope it will achieve for people with Crohn's and Colitis in the future.

Share your own story

We hear from people every day who rely on the Crohn’s and Colitis community for help and support. Your experience can be helpful and inspiring - share your story and use your voice.

We share stories in lots of ways - it's at the heart of what we do. You could be interviewed by a journalist from a newspaper, radio or TV programme. Your story could be shared on our blog, on social media, or be quoted in publications to help inform others with Crohn’s or Colitis.

It can be very rewarding, but sometimes it can also be tough or emotional to share your story. Our Share Your Story form is for people who want to tell us their story - we are not able to provide support in this way. If you are in need of help and information, please visit our helpline pages for details of how to contact our helpline and other organisations which offer support.

We’d love to hear from you about your reasons for including a gift in your Will and what you hope it will help achieve for people with Crohn’s and Colitis in the future.

While we may not be able to use your story immediately, we review every submission we receive. Your experiences may be just right for a future opportunity or event - we will contact you if that's the case.
